We’re off to see the wizard! Our transport unloads us at 4,240 m (13,911 ft.) at the Occoruro Pass. From there, we tackle a route dimed “El Brujo”, or “The Wizard” by local riders – because navigating some of these features calls for one at times! El Brujo, super technical to say the least, brings some steep, banked curves, rock-gardens, and some razor-thin lines that, when combined in sequence, call for your undeterred concentration and a tight handle of your bike. We’ll roll to a stop at 3,450 m (11,319 ft.)
After our visit with “The Wizard”, we’ll catch a ride from our transport up to the start of the internationally famous DH trail “Huaccoto”, the competition route for the 2016 Pan-American Downhill Championship. This last ride offers some gnarly verticals, jumps, and drops that can bring the freerider out of us all. This second route is short (approximately 15 minutes), but intense. If at the end we still want more, we’ll shuttle up to drop in on a bonus track that delivers another non-stop adrenaline downhill ride.
Note: Perú Biking requires that riders first complete an Intermediate level Full-Day ride before attempting trails of greater difficulty. Sorry, shredders. Rules are rules.
All of our Full-Day Rides are operated in privately arranged tours to guarantee the best experience for riders.
