The course of the most legendary downhill race in South America, ridden twice in one day.
Every year riders from all over the world travel to Ollantaytambo to race the Inca Avalanche, the most famous mass start in South America. The course drops from the Abra Málaga, at 4,300 m, facing the Verónica glacier on the divide between the Andes and the Cusco jungle, and falls 1,500 metres to Phiry (2,800 m): wide Inca road, rollers, natural wallrides, water channels, fast singletrack and long rock gardens, with the vegetation changing at every turn.
This day tour rides it twice, with the same start and the same finish. The first run is a recon, stopping at the key sections to read lines and try options; the second is ridden at pace, top to bottom without stopping. It is the hardest day in our catalogue and the best possible training if you are here to race or want to test yourself on a real race course.
